About Scooter Rental Basics:

On a normal summer day in Panama City Beach, families, young adults and teens can be seen buzzing around on scooters, electric cars and scoot-coupes. They provide an ease of access to tourists and a fun way to get around without having everyone pile into the family van to go anywhere.

Scooters can go between 35 and 45 miles per hour and come in sizes for one or two people. Electric cars can hold between four to eight people, depending on the car. The rules for renting and riding the vehicles are stringent and must be followed. Some basic rules are: no driving on the sidewalk; and anyone under the age of 18 must have an adult sign the rental agreement.

Panama City Beach Police Chief Robert Harding recommends that those driving scooters and those on the road with scooters pay close attention to the road. Do not drive scooters on Back Beach Road because they just cannot keep up with the pace of traffic.
